I enjoy communicating with people, I am confident to be working with people on the shop floor, presenting and meeting with people at board level and all levels of an organisation. I get enjoyment from completing projects and seeing a successful outcome. I work well in a crisis and not one to panic, I hate to let people down.

2004 – Present. Home Based Marketing / Account Handling

Working independently from home based office producing marketing material for a mix of clients, this involves working closely with clients on the direction and creation of marketing, PR, concepts, print, retention and targets.

I am proficient and experienced in producing all print related work such as brochures, leaflets, logo design, advertisements, direct mail, exhibition panels, POS, stationery, forms etc. I also work on web site concept and experience. I have expert knowledge of litho and most printing processes and place and administrate print from stationery through to catalogues and point of sale. I am used to taking projects from design to completion and am happy working with a team or independently. I am confident in presenting any level of an organisation.

I have been involved in an eclectic mix of clients from electronics to fashion.

I have a working knowledge of most graphic arts programmes such as QuarkXpress, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and In-Design as well as being proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. I am very computer literate and a quick learner on any system.

Experienced handling the day to day management of accounts to include:
Negotiation of contracts, service agreements, cost analysis and reduction, daily contact with clients as necessary, managing suppliers, delivery and fulfilment.

1985 – 2004 Graphic Design Studio Studio Manager / Account Manager

Joined with a printing company to set up an independent graphic design studio specialising in the design and production of catalogues and printed material.

I personally produced marketing strategies for clients, conceptual design and copy writing.

Work produced for clients both directly and indirectly include: British Airways, Barclays Bank, Joseph, Shell, Rover cars, Supercheques, Gillette, Parker Pens, Singer Sewing Machines, Buster cleaning products and many other well known companies, as well as small companies and one man consultancies. As well as concept, design and artwork, printing was also a very important part of our expertise and I utilised a number of printers around London. We had an in-house image setter which allowed us to produce our own colour separated film. Also ran and used Linotype typesetting.

I am able to produce management plans to include sales targets, cost and cash flow forecasting and to present to Directors. I enjoyed working with clients on their marketing and liaised with them to produce conceptual designs and managed projects through to final print and fulfilment.

Employed a staff of approx 8 people of various abilities.

The print company went into liquidation and the design company was run down and the office closed in 2004.



1982 – 1985: General Aero Products corp. USA Marketing / Print / Procedures
Electronics, engineering, military products.

New York company which produced aircraft instruments, postal vending machines, navy searchlights and electronic components.

Responsible for buying space for advertisements in magazines. Conducting direct mail campaigns and other sales promotional efforts.
Personally produced sales material, brochures, exhibition displays and camera ready artwork. Selected, monitored and supervised out-side photographers, artists, designers and printers to assist on projects. Produced all in-house printed material.

Wrote formal work procedures and specific function procedures for various departments including personnel, materials movement, purchasing, receiving and stock control.

My wife and I decided to move back to the UK

Apprenticed to Photolithographers as a Retoucher/Artist serving a five year apprenticeship, including one day a week at the London College of Printing.
Developed experience in all printing skills.

Achieved City and Guilds Diploma (with Credit), London College of Printing.

Department Manager. Responsible for supervision of six lithographic artists.

General Manager. Promoted to this position to provide leadership for all departments.

Needed to spread my wings and was offered position in USA.
